Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure, on a chief Or a disc Vert charged with an acorn of the second stem up. Attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed "DARE YOUR BEST" in Green letters.

Symbolism
Blue is a color traditionally associated with Infantry, the original branch of the organization. The gold chief displays the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 87th Division.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 347th Infantry Regiment, Organized Reserves, on 16 April 1925. It was redesignated for the 347th Regiment with description and symbolism revised on 8 April 1993.
